Law Office Timotijević is present for many years in the legal community of Belgrade and Serbia, as one of the most competent offices in the fields of human rights law, criminal law with specialization in the field of organized crime, corporate law, commercial law, civil law, tax law and trademark protection, family law, juvenile defense, admission and discharge from Serbian citizenship.
Founded in 2006 by attorney Miljan Ž . Timotijević, Law Office Timotijević has had a large number of cases before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, for violation of human rights of foreign and domestic individuals and domestic business entities.
Our lawyers are associated members of the US based human rights NGO “Human Rights Lawyers Network Without Frontiers (HRLNWF)”. As the delegates we are often present at conferences organized by OSCE – Office For Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) such as “The Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM)”, Europe’s largest annual human rights and democracy conference organized by ODIHR annually in Warsaw “as a platform for the 57 OSCE participating States, the OSCE Partners for Co-operation, OSCE structures, civil society, civil organizations, and other relevant actors to take stock of the implementation of OSCE human dimension commitments, discuss associated challenges, share good practices and make recommendations for further improvement”. As the speakers we present the cases of gross human rights violations our clients are suffering in their native countries or abroad.
We also represent clients in criminal proceedings, commercial disputes, civil state, marital and family law, privatization procedures insolvency proceedings and administrative proceedings. In the field of management of companies, assessment and risk control, corporate management and all aspects of business operations, we have a consummate experience. Our office is a competent advisor on proceedings before the European Court in Strasbourg, and in the application of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
We participated in the conference “South East European Legal Days 2020” dedicated to human rights, as well as in the conference Democratic Law-Making: Ensuring Participation – Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting (SHDM) II 2021 organized by the OSCE-ODIHR.
In March 2022, our office also participated at the OSCE Conference: International co-operation to address violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law: Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting I, held in Vienna.
We worked as counselors for law office Schwab, Flaherty & Asociés, Geneva, Switzerland, in proceedings conducted against citizens of Serbia, before the Special Prosecutor of the Canton Zurich, in charge of the investigation of proceeds of corruption and organized crime committed abroad. In the field of private banking and asset management, our office has a long standing practice. We worked with private banking institutions in Switzerland and law firms in private investment and management of funds and assets. We have cooperated with law firm Davies Lawrence & Co, London, UK , in the proceedings of solving family and marital disputes of British citizens in Serbia.
Our law firm also has a long standing practice in the fields of media law and entertainment law.
